![]() ![]() However, the issue is that the media files appear correctly in the files app on my iPad and VLC right after transferring it, but after only a short while (pretty much after I leave the files app) the files will become seemingly hidden in the files app. My files transfer perfectly well (regardless of how many or how big the files are), although this may be because the dev team fixed this issue. The problems that I have been facing seem to be slightly different from what everyone else is having: It's a bug that vlc doesn't update properly if transfers are done while it's open, although it doesn't always happens If VLC is closed before the transfers, the new files that you transfer will show up, at least it was the solution for me. To close the apps, you need to slide it upwards: do this to close VLC in case it appears there Tapping the home button on ipad once sends you to your "home", but double tapping quickly will make it show the apps you have opened. You may already know this, but in case you don't: The important step afterwards, is to make sure that VLC is closed on the ipad before and while transfering. On itunes, you go to VLC, select the file that won't show up and press "delete" on keyboard, then confirm. ![]() First you have to delete the files (from the IPAD) that won't show up. I agree with you that wifi transfers are too slow, at least for some of us. I'm on windows and I use itunes to transfer to VLC. Have you checked if it lets you install it? You can no longer use itunes to transfer files? I read that "finder" replaced it on certain operating systems. Transferring worked at lease and you could see the progress. It was nice when iTunes was still around. I've tried one file at a time, I've transferred using wifi with the network address of the iPad (too slow). On the finder under iPad, VLC, the media is shown but on the app on the iPad nothing. When I transfer more files that are not showing I will check again if this option fixes the problem in the meantime Hopefully a solution may be done so this time wasted doesn't add upĪ workaround might be to use "Force VLC to rescan the library" option on the preferences, but I just tried it once and seemed to work to show the last file that wasn't showing. I understand that this is not a big issue, but when I need to transfer large files or a lot of them I have to spend extra time on this task (15 extra minutes every time I transfer stuff, which is about 3 times per week). Tonight, I transfered a video 3 times and it didn't show up. The files that don't show up, I have to add them again and select overwrite, even thought they were transfered fully (itunes -> VLC show the file name and size). When I add files one by one going itunes -> vlc, they tend to show up on VLC on the ipad the majority of times (today I had exceptions), but if I transfer more than 1 at once, some of them will show and others don't.
